Oct 24 - Alishan to Sun Moon Lake

REPOSTED FROM DEC 07 AFTER ADDING CAPTION
We were lucky. Our original plan is to get back to Taichung and then take a bus back to Taipei. We would like to go to SunMoonLake but due to distance and hassle (from Taichung, another long-distance bus and time consumed), we aborted the idea. However, our bus driver who sent us to watch the Taiwanese sunrise told us that there's a group of travellers engaged a bus to bring them to Sun Moon Lake and voila!!!!!!!!! We definitely jumped at the chance.

We were joining the van with 4 travellers, 3 from Canton, China and a local Taiwanese guide who was orginally from China as well. The Cantonese were a middle-aged-retired couple and their friend. We were having a good chat (ok...only me who is so busybody and kepoh and chat with them) about their travel experience and of course I wasted no time and promote Sabah to them as well. They are well-travelled and the uncle is good in telling his travel experience in a humourous way.

We had lunch on the way to Sun Moon Lake and man.... it's a GOOD lunch. It's like the BEST meal that we had. I think there're at least 7 dishes and I remember the prawns are the best. It's shrimp actually and it's actually from the river. 溪虾 And the drink was SOOOOOO nice. It's actually prune (or is it plum???) juice and it's SOOOO refreshing!!!

The highway above was built after the orginal one in the lowland was damaged by the landslide caused by the typhoon.
