Quoting from The Star:
"Ministers and deputies must declare their assets"
said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.
“I want their assets to be known to the public, that is important,” he said.
“The do's and the don'ts will be spelt out to them,” he said.
“I want them to know what I expect of them and how they should run their ministries"
“They were appointed to serve the people.

Taken at the junction to the Park HQ
I was on my way to KK from Sandakan and yes... working as well as you can see I'm wearing the oh-no company tshirt and he was standing next to the road side in Mile 32 doing the hitch-hiking sign. I slowed down and asked him to join me on the ride to KK as he wanted to go to Kinabalu Park. He couldn't get a bus and another Good Samaritan picked him at the Sepilok junction but had to drop him off at Mile 32 cox he's gotta go to Lahad Datu, which is different direction to KK or the Kinabalu National Park.
His name is Dave, from NZ...yeah... LOTR and the dairies!!!! Had a good time chatting with him along the ride from Mile 32 to the National Park and he shared his travel experience. We traded some of our experience in Hanoi and our views on people we met on our travel and yes....it's a good laugh.
If you are reading this Dave, enjoy ur next trip in Indonesia!!! Hope you did the Mt. Kinabalu and keep in touch.

Utusan and Bernama
All leaders in states not controlled by Umno dominance must be careful.
In the aftermath of the Abdullah debacle in GE2008, Utusan Malaysia and Bernama became the two media organisations that stoked political hatred, pitting Malays against non-Malays.
Both the media groups framed Lim Guan Eng for a mention of May 13, which the new Penang CM didn't say. I knew as I stood behind him during the press interview. And the CM's press secretary confirmed the same.We queried Khalid Mohd, the Group Editor-in-Chief of Utusan.
He passed the buck to Bernama, saying that his paper had used the national news agency's dispatch, though his reporters were present during Guan Eng's interview.
We took Khalid at face value and queried Yong Soo Heong, the Editor-in-Chief of Bernama. He faxed us this letter yesterday, which I reproduce verbatim:
March 14, 2008
YAB Sdra Lim Guan Eng
Chief Minister of Penang
28th Fl, Komtar
10502 Penang
Dear YAB,On behalf of my colleagues in BERNAMA, I would like to congratulate your team and you for the recent victory in Penang.
I would also like to take this opportunity to apologise for the sloppy editing in the news story of March 12, 2008, which we mistakenly quoted you as commenting on the May 13 incident as well. The inclusion of the fact was intended to give background on the establishment of the NEP in 1971. Nevertheless, upon a thorough review, the inclusion of that fact along with your quote may have been inappropriate.
As we move forward, I would like to ensure you of BERNAMA's co-operation for your newly-formed government and shall always endeavour to help you promote the well-being of Penang and its people.
Yours sincerely,
YONG SOO HEONG
Editor-in-Chief
The Utusan-Bernama ruckus started when Guan Eng announced all government procurements in Penang will be through open tender -- something that the NEP did not address and went on to create cronies and entrench corruption in the system.
I hope the next time Umno leaders took to the streets to stoke people's sentiments along racial lines, you know who is to blame.

Note (from Maverick) : I had asked for Jeff's permission to publish this piece of information to the general public so that people are informed of the conspiracies. I hope all other bloggers will also do so. This way, we hope it will wake up the mainstream media and the conspirators who are working hard to destroy and tear apart the social fabric which will ultimately result in chaos and instigate the clash of civilization.

Sandakan is CRYING
But I can't help thinking that it's actually Sandakan crying.
Crying cox its current political scenario is turning worse at each turn of the election coming round.
Crying cox its Sandakan-ian easily got carried away with the we-Sandakan-ppl-must-vote-Sandakan-ppl sentiment.
Crying cox the dirt of the election process getting unabashedly displayed without guilt.
OK, we need carrot to attract the rabbits, just like incentives will encourage people to do certain things, i.e. work, chores etc. However certain things should not be done for the sake of incentives. And in this case, voting for the future of ourselves and coming generation cannot be depended on the 5-years-once kind of incentive. Of course some may take the gain and vote other party but in the long run, the rakyat is being programmed to ask for it everytime election comes. You can see that by desas-desus saying which party give money which candidate give money when the election time is near. Until the awareness kicks in, it's just a pathetic display of the power of money.
Madir Speaks Again.... It's Both Funny and Scary
What do you think led to this defeat?
I think his son-in-law (Khairy Jamaluddin) played a big role. This young man who has no achievements before but apparently the PM listens to him more rather than the police, the special branch and the armed forces, who are closer to the ground. They were so taken up with their own newspaper reports that they couldn't hear anything else. They dismissed everything they didn't like.
(KJ, take tat. ur 5k majority is a shame. ur opponent who raised only 30k to campaign earned everybody's respect)
Do you think that Anwar Ibrahim is still relevant?
I think he is relevant but he is not going to become the prime minister of this country.
(those who didn't sleep will know the answer. Badawi said before he's not relevant, of course no one is relevant when one is sleeping)
If you were in Pak Lah's shoes, would you be in a hurry to form the government?
I would take responsibility. If the people want me to resign, I would resign.
(Badawi can't hear you cox he's sleeping)
Who should succeed Pak Lah?
Najib won by 26,000 votes and this is much more than in 2004 when the BN was very, very popular. On the other hand, Pak Lah - who had a majority of 18,000 before - only has a majority of 11,000 now. The fact is that he lost a number of votes. And there are not many people who have improved (their majority) since 2004.Yes, his son-in-law won but he only won by a small majority, smaller than previously. He was also in a safe seat.
(can you see now what's to come? and mukhriz spoke already, asking Badawi to step down - like cantonese says, old madir still have quite some style of kungfu left....also love his jab take at the SIL. BUT ONE DISTURBING EVENT HERE.... madir seems to be working extra hard promoting najob. well...for me, i dun wanna another DEVIL barter)
Is it time to end racial politics?
I'm going to tell you this (rejection of BN) involves all the races. It's not as if the Chinese reject BN or all the Indians reject BN. Here, you see Chinese, Indian and Malay reject BN except for Sabah and Sarawak.
(ok, yes, EM accounted for >25% of BN parliament share - it's a shame)
Can you comment on Zam (Zainuddin Maidin)?
He won or lost? Oh, he lost. Well, the way he was campaigning was really funny, telling people to look at his face and how it doesn't change. But I think that a face that doesn't change can be very boring. Sometimes you must laugh, sometimes you must cry.He was telling everybody "Ini muka tak bertukar, tak bertukar". Who is interested in his ‘wajar’? If he was Britney Spears, then….
(this is the BEST answer of the whole interview!)
Did BN lose because too many people like Samy Vellu had hung on to power too long?
I think that Samy Vellu played a big part in the defeat. When he was in BN, he doesn't allow any of the MIC people to come up to his level. If they come up (to be) deputy or vice-president, he will knock them down and even expel them from the party. And he wouldn't allow any other Indian party to join BN. (MG) Pandithan tried to join, begged me to allow him and I wanted to agree but we have this consensus in BN that if one party doesn't agree we cannot accept them.
(old Madir is definitely trying to save his own ass; I mean he says Samy didn't bring up Indians' grouses but takkan he dunno about it??? tat's lots of bullsss)
Will you return to active politics?
I won't return to active politics but if they want advice, I can give them. How can I return when once I stepped down they treated me like a pariah?
(now... this is SCARY!!!!!!!!!!)

Happy Belated 72th Birthday
9:56am March 8
It's 9:56am and I heard a helicopter hovering in the sky. Caught a glimpse and it's not military helicopter cox it's not the usual military green (eerrr... my own assumption). So, what could it be? Just some safety measures taken by the pihak berkuasa to ensure peace? Hope so.
Just hope that it's not another case of misusing public fund and asset for own or certain party's political agenda in the election.
I will fulfill my responsibilities after lunch hoping it will not be that crowded.

PhD (Permanent Head Damage)
You will be amazed by how far people will go to get it and how easy to get it in Malaysia. Yes, in Malaysia. Malaysia always boleh.
Our Deputy Information Minister, Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi was conferred Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Communication by Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). And below is the extract from Aisehman......
And what was his thesis about?
Don’t laugh but it’s entitled, “Barisan Nasional Manifesto As Agenda for Malay Language Newspaper During the General Election Campaign”
The study was undertaken to identify the usage of BN manifesto as an agenda for the Malay language newspapers namely Utusan Malaysia and Berita Harian during the general elections in 1982, 1986, 1990, 1995 dan 1999.
Sounds more like literature search than a thesis to me.
I would like to say that my thesis' literature search is better than that!!!!!!!! I wonder how the thesis help to enlighten the society. So, for future undergraduates or post-grad students you know what topic to choose next time.
My suggestions, especially for UPM students :
1. Indelible Ink : The Suggestion, The Objection, The Decision, The Approval and The Cancelation
2. Indelible Ink : How It Will Disrupt Public Order and Threaten Security based on Police Report; 2 from Perlis and 1 each from Kedah and Kelantan
3. BN Media Campaign Monopolisation As A Right-In-Your-Face Advertisement 24/7 As A Sure Win Tactics
But I am an engineering student? How????
A PLEA (Inspired by Aisehman & Bernard Khoo)
To call it off, to change the rules at this late hour … it should be clear to everyone what’s going on here.
So allow me go on my hands and knees, and beg you, whoever is reading this, to think long and hard before you decide who to vote for on Saturday.
We live for them. And as God is my witness, we would do everything in our power to make them happy, to keep them safe, and to ensure that they have a future.
And their future is what’s at stake.
Enough, for the line must be drawn here and now.
I say now — what is mine, is yours. And what is yours is mine. Our fate, our destiny, and that of our children’s, are our responsibility.

Indelible Ink Canceled - RASHID & SUPPORTING MPs, PAY US BACK 3 MILLION
And more shocking is the cancelation of the indelible ink, CITING PUBLIC ORDER and SECURITY REASONS.
Read the full extract from the BN-tool, The Star here....
EC cancels use of indelible ink
By RAPHAEL WONG
PUTRAJAYA: The Election Commission has cancelled the use of indelible ink in polling this Saturday, citing public order and security reasons.
Its chairman Tan Sri Abdul Rashid Abdul Rahman said following a meeting held Tuesday, the EC was obliged to make a firm and final decision to ensure the smooth conduct of the 12th general election.
He said provisions to the law needed if the ink was to be used still could not affect the constitutional right of a voter to cast his vote, even a person whose fingernail had been marked with indelible ink or one who refuses to have his or her fingernail marked this way.
"From a practical point of view, the issuance of a ballot paper to such a voter would render the EC's proposal meaningless and will not bring about a positive result, whilst having the potential to create misunderstanding as well as altercations and arguments at polling stations," he said.
The Federal Constitution gives you the right to vote, and a black mark on your fingernail should not bar you from exercising this right, he said.
Abdul Rashid said there were also reports made to the police confirming that certain irresponsible quarters had purchased indelible ink from abroad with the intention of creating confusion and suspicion as to the status of voters.
"The EC views these issues seriously as the election process and public order and security cannot be compromised," he said.
The use of indelible ink was first proposed last June to safeguard against multiple or phantom voting. Abdul Rashid then said that the system would be subject to amendments to the Election (Conduct of Election) Regulation 1981.
He said indelible ink had been chosen over other measures, such as a biometric system working off the MyKad (chip-based identity card carried by all Malaysians above the age of 12) because such such smartcard readers would have cost about RM60,000 each, and every voting stream would have to be equipped with one. Using such a system would have cost in excess of RM30mil. The commission bought about 47,000 bottles of the indelible ink, manufactured in India, for RM2mil.
Wow... he can churn out all these excuses and reasons and what the hell did SPR do before deciding on it????????? I mean did someone just heard somewhere of the ink and think it's a good idea then just implement it???? And only now they talk of constitution right, public order, security and reports to police stations on irresponsible party who imported the same ink and all sorts of crap???? WHO'S IRRESPONSIBLE HERE???
Saya punya Tuhan!!! I think Rashid have to bear the cost of all the fiasco. It's 2 million of material cost and less than 1 million implementation cost as claimed before this.
RASHID, PAY US BACK 3 MILLION!!!! AND ALL THE BN MPs WHO MUTED THEMSELVES ON THE CHANGES OF THE CONSTITUTION TO ALLOW RASHID TO STAY ON HIS TENURE SHOULD SHARE THE COST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
