Read Rocky Bru's blog and he read a blog on Penang CM travelling in economy class via MAS. The blog is the manager of Ning Baizura. Read his account here. By the way, Ning, you are such a cool chick!!! Give us more nice songs. Guan Eng also know you leh....
That reminded me of the flight from Labuan to KK last night. Err... forgot, maybe it's the early flight from KK to Labuan yesterday. But anyway, the point is I saw a federal minister, Joseph Kurup and a Sabah states assemblyman, Michael Assang was in the same plane as well and yes, no guessing, they're in First Class.
OK, I think it's their prerogative on how to use the MP or assemblyman allowance or maybe they fork out their own money for the travel but the fact that Penang CM Lim Guan Eng showed an example to the rakyat and optional luxury is still a choice especially if we are talking about public fund usage.
Read somewhere that a state assemblywoman who was left with approximate 5k for development projects for the rest of 2008 for her constituency. Speak about ethics and 良心 conscience sigh~~~~~~~~~~
this is indeed leadership by example...!
ReplyDeletecorrect. guan eng got my respect here.
ReplyDeleteRead tat blog a few days ago. As a CM aka leader of the people, I hav a few comments reg his action(of course pros and cons);
ReplyDeletePro:
a) yup he is showing tat he is trying to be as low on the ground with and for his Rakyat.
b) He is trying to save the tax payers' money
c) Not showing off who he is after being a CM
Con:
a) He should think about his security....common man he is the CM & so far he is doin a good job. So he shld take care of himself a bit as in this society nowadays, nothing is safe. So at least travel with a security personnel.
b) If the CM deserved to be treated as VIP, than let it be....coz he may be bz with official works so a police escort or even a more comfortable First class seat is wat he deserved.
So, tat's just my 2 cents view. a leader is not tat easy to become, people would remember more wat you did wrong than wat you did right!!
see... tat's wat i like abt the comment section. we welcome all comments. not like some politicians such as Rustam Ali Malacca CM, deleted ALL comments which didn't agree with his stand.
