Mengapa Kasih - Double Take

Mengapa Kasih – Double Take

Mengapa kasih
Engkau membisu
Bermuram wajah tiada menentu

Mengapa kasih
Engkau begini
Sepuas hati kucuba memujuk

Mungkinkah aku mesti berlalu
Membiar tanpa mengganggu
Mungkinkah aku mesti mengaku
Berlaku yang tak kau restu
Mengapa kasih

Mengapa kasih
Terus begini
Kugerak bahumu oh berkali
Mengapa kasih
Enggan mengadu
Kuperlukan senyuman bibirmu

Malay being sidelined in Penang???I just don't understand this!!! Malay being sidelined in Penang? Just because the Chief Minister post is not being held by a Malay, Malays are being sidelined? I can't figure out the logic!!! So now we have to consider the option of rotation system??? Ask us Sabah people dear!!!!! It's just another ploy I would say!!! I suddenly felt so annoyed with all the current affair happening in our beloved country!!! This to top up the worry over the ever-increasing price of goods (I would never believe the inflation rate figure released by government!!!)SIGH~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Finale of American Idol

1. The only reason I can think of for the stylist to dress Taylor in that "argueably the worst jacket he ever saw - Simon" purple jacket is to attract attention. Well, in a way, it did worked that way. I guess the only person who envied him of that jacket is Auntie Elton John.
2. Taylor will win, in my opinion.

Adios my Friend!

I'd decided that I'm now calm enough, not devastated and troubled by the lost of my beloved Sony M1 digital camera and Sony Ericsson T910 handphone, I should dedicate a post to these 2 good friends of mine.

To my M1, thank you for your service to me for 1year+ and you did record an awesome lot of my sweet memories during that period. Though you're overpriced and lack in some technical prowess as compared to your younger brothers, I can't help feeling proud owning you, looking cool be with you while everybody asked "Is that a handphone? Cool". And eventhough I was quite geram when I found that your younger bro, M2 is sold at a much cheaper price, I was still grateful having you.

To my loyal T910, thanks to you too though I failed to keep my own resolution to be with you for at least 3 years before letting you go in peace. With you, I did Malaysia proud when my host in Hospitality Club in Florence, Italy made the following remark when I stayed at his vineyard mansion, "Wow..... Malaysia is so technological!!!!! (Yup... he said technological, not my grammatical error)" with his eyes terbeliak. He's using your grandfather 788 at that time.

To the scum who stole my beloved M1 and T910, may you lost your tastebud and appetite (including your sex drive), everything you eat tastes like shit and even little blue V or C couldn't help you! Bless you!

Postal Address

You remember postal address? Of course it's still exist these days but it's not that common anymore. Mine is actually P.O.Box %$#, 90007 Sandakan. That is my gateway to the world outside when I was still a kid.. so it had been ages. These kind of postal address is actually a box in some big post office whereby they'll rent out to whoever who wants to rent. These particular P.O.Box number that I'm having was actually owned by one of my father's friend who's actually an accountant or some sort. I used it for my first correspondence with my pen pal from Greece, Pepie Karatzeni. I used it for my subscription of children and education (it's real education I'm talking here) magazines, which always lost due to the high literacy rate of those people who works in handling mails in post office.

Taking mails is a big thing for me that time. I spent my saturday mornings lurking in the town library (yup, I'm a nerd, a big-time nerd who indulge himself in nothing but books). My dad will bring me to breakfast early morning and dropped my at the library on the way to his office. Normally I will reach the library around 7.20am and the library only opens at 9am. What a small kid do with the extra waiting hours. I will go to the accountant's office and retrieve the mails, both mine and my parents. As the accountant is a very generous person, he let his postal address to be used by other people as well, the fishmongers in the fish market, the vegetable stall operator in the town market, his business partners, his friends etc... so there will be piles of mails etc every week and I will have to search through that whole pile of mails in order to retrieve mails for us. It's pretty exciting by the way. The anticipation of seeing my own names or my parents' on the mails is so syok haha....

Now it had become more convenient where the mails will be delivered to the front door of our house. The anticipation now will be the distinct sound of the postmen's motorcycles. I'm not sure whether they're of special assembled types but it seems like the postmen's motorcycles do produce its own brand of unique sound different from others. Or mayb it's just my own delusion haha......

Oppss... I saw a mail icon blinking at the bottom of my PC.... I forgot the motorcycle's sound now but I got a blinking icon instead! Long live technology.

Woody Allen's Anything Else

Always like Woody Allen's movie though I haven't watch his prime-time's work. So far I only watched Anything Else, The Curse of the Jade Scorpion and Melinda and Melinda. Of course I'm longing to watch Match Point.

OK... anything else..... firstly love Billie Holiday's "Easy to Love" featured in Anything Else. Well... I love Allen's movie and one of the main factors is the nice smooth jazzy tunes used in his movies and Holiday is perfect with the NY backdrop Allen is so used to (OK.. he moved to London recently but I guess tat's another story).

His script is full of dialogues, a delight to me. I have to freeze the screen and jot down some (OK... lots of them.....) words which I will search frantically the meaning of each of them in online dictionary.

In Anything Else.........
1. hebetudinous
2. charlatan
3. maladroit
4. typhlotic
5. vino veritas
6. farrago
7. vantz
8. tergiversate
9. porcine
10.altruistically

I know listing the words above is like "membuka pekung di dada" haha...

Life Lesson from American Idol?

Ever wonder why sometimes things are not in our control? And we are talking about things that might create great impact in our life here! That's what happened to Katherine when she has to sing R.Kelly's "I Believe I Can Fly" (gosh.... what is the guest judge thinking for asking her to sing that "sung-to-death" song???? I mean what's other song choice worse than Celine Dion's "My Heart Will Go On" and other Carey's impossible number???). It's good that she kinda retaliate when she blurted out "I didn't choose the song!!!". Go gal!!!!

But sometimes you can be saved by someone else's decision for you! Didn't believe it? Again... it's Katherine, when she sang "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" chosen for her by the wise Simon Cowell. And she sang it beautifully, gave the frequently-covered song a new breath as what Fantasia did last 2 season with "Summertime". (Another excellent version of SOtR is by Tori Amos).

How about if things are in your own control? It may not do you any good indeed as proved by Kat (I Ain't Got Nothing But the Blues) and Elliot (I Believe to My Soul) for their own chosen final number. Both chose some bluesy and soulful numbers but the problem is that the songs were not easily-recognised (at least, not to me...). I had a feeling that they chose the songs because they like them but not that they're good at it. Things we like not necessarily are the things we are good at. That's life!

Having said that, some people just know what's good for them and Taylor is the testament of that. His selection, "Try a Little Tenderness" closed the competition with a bang. Not to belittle his performance but the fact that it's the closing number did something to audience's acceptance of the performance.

OK.... enough about the pretentious life lesson.....

My Scores for their respective performances :

Round 1 :
1. Open Arms - Elliot (OK though not great for me)
2. I Believe I Can Fly - Kat (thumbs down)
3. Dancing in the Dark - Taylor (so-so)

My Pick : Elliot

Round 2
1. What You Won't Do For Love - Elliot (OK)
2. Somewhere Over the Rainbow - Kat (WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
3. You're So Beautiful - Taylor (Another wow wow wow!!!!!!!!!!!)

My Pick : Kat & Taylor

Round 3
1. I Believe to My Soul - Elliot (so-so)
2. I Ain't Got Nothing But the Blues - Kat (bad choice)
3. Try A Little Tenderness - Taylor (he did it with a bang!)

My Pick : Taylor

MY FINAL PICK FOR THE FINAL : KAT & TAYLOR

MI3

MI3? I remembered watching the previous 2 mega-bucks-generating franchise by Tom Cruise with his mega-watt smile but remember nothing from them, except;
1. The self-destructive Ray-ban super-cool shades in dunno which installment, 1st or 2nd?... and
2. Thandie Newton.

This time around I will definitely remember Maggie Q! Her dialogue when she "accidentally" poured some drink onto Philip Seymour Hoffman's baddie character is the MOST memorable dialogue ever in her whole movie career. Go figure and rewatch if you missed it. Get someone who's fluent in Cantonese to help. And why she has to speak in Cantonese when she's not even has any Chinese blood, she's Hawaiian-Vietnamese. Another generalisation of non-American character in Hollywood.

Having said that, it's an enjoyable flick.

Are you a Sabahan?

This is copied from an email forwarded to me (thanks Peggie), which some of them are very true!!! However, it doesn't represent the whole Sabahan though. If you find some points were not true, just take a laugh!

You are a true Sabahan when...

13) Your Timorese maid ran away with her lover, taking your money or jewellery along..
14) You doubt someone's mykad whether it is real or fake..
15) Your favourite assemblyman whom you vote and supported all this while...gambled away and lost a whopping 60 million ringgit in a London casino..

6ft Under Re-run

What I did during Labor Day? Labored myself in front of TV for 6ft Under re-run.
Brenda (played by the brilliant Rachel Griffith) said, "You know what I find interesting? If you lose a spouse, you're called a widow or a widower. If you're a child and you lose your parents, then you're an orphan. But what's the word to describe a parent who loses a child? I guess that's just too fucking awful to even have a name"
Brilliant isn't it? And sorry for the French.
