Indonesia - Food (Part 4)

The famous SOSRO "Teh Botol", it's Teh "O" in bottle. A Must-Try item.

Indonesia - Food (Part 3)

Pisang goreng also has such a packaging!

After shopping in all those outlet stores, squatting and sitting in front of one of the outlet.

Roti Bakar Tunggal. Toast lah, apa lagi??? But it's tasty. With cheese, butter and peanut butter and lots of variety of flavour to choose from.

It Peaked USD140

Yes, it did peak up to USD140 today though it closed lower than that. Sigh~

Indonesia - Food (Part 2)

I would say the national food is Bakso, just like roti canai or nasi lemak in Malaysia

The above pictures taken in Tangkuban Perahu, Bandung.

Indonesia - Food (Part 1)

Why gila? It's because it's very big portion with tonnes of ingredients fried together.

What AAB Can Learn From Other Head of State?

Looks like our neighbouring countries' Head Of State has lots of free time to pursue their own hobby or interest. For example:

1. Thailand PM - Samak Sundaravei

He said, "The constitution does not prohibit a Prime Minister from doing TV show" and now he's at risk of being voted no-confidence (hm....coincidence???) He has a weekly cooking show called "Tasting, Grumbling"

2. Indonesia President - Susilo Bambang Yudhonoyo

Facing endless demonstration due to his move to increase the fuel price but he has released an album!!!! hmm.....fuel price again???? by the way, our Indonesian neighbour call it BBM (bahan bakar minyak)

Based on the current risk and all the above as the "petanda" of what may happen in Malaysia, maybe AAB should consider picking up his hobby.

I suggest he bought over the boutique SIL opened aptly called Emperor's New Clothes (can't remember the exact name but Emperor & Cloth definitely IN the name) and run it!!!!!!!!!! Of course, whoever go in the shop will be given a pair of flip-flop FREE. With his signature somemore!!!

The Best Line from Yong and Adnan

Of all the blames, advices, words uttered during the SAPP fiasco comes from the mother of all froggies, Yong Teck Lee.
"Don't treat us like kids"
"That seems to be the way they treat us in Sabah. When we are naughty, or make too much noise, they give us some sweets," he said.
"This is not a healthy relationship. It makes us unwilling to listen, and unwilling to open up and say what we are feeling."
Tengku Adnan (Secretary-General of UMNO) said this "Barisan is like a family. They (SAPP) ARE LIKE A SON who wants to remain in the family but cannot get along with the father"
Haha... only UMNO is the father whereby the others are just children. Of course, some are anak tiri destined to be neglected. But do they only know by now???

Another Round-Up of The Week

I had been outstation, back to my HQ for meeting and training. Normally this is something I look forward to because I can take the chance to meet up with some old friends and catch up with each other but this time around, I don't have much mood. Of course, aside from having a nice catch up with my best buddy and her husband to celebrate her birthday, it's all work only.
The week is definitely not quiet, at any rate or standard for the political scenario in Malaysia and this time, especially in Sabah. The SAPP fiasco didn't manage to spark any surprise for most of the Sabahans I am sure and everybody is waiting to see the drama minggu ini which is certainly than the ones playing in RTM.
I was "fortunate" enough to watch the national news over TV, yup, thanks to the boring channels available at the Holiday Villa Hotel, Subang Jaya I was reduced to watching national news in TV3. The clip which Raymond Tan speaking about his decision to stick with SAPP even if it's being expelled from BN linger in my mind. I think he got his 5 mins fame already on national TV and good for him. He's practically off the radar for most of Malaysians and locals revered him indeed. He won his seat with big majority in a constituent used to be Chinese-majority. I remembered seeing him shopping with his wife in Centre Point KK in his plain cloth without the usual patrol of bodyguards typical of someone of his status as the Deputy Chief Minister of Sabah. And now seeing him holding his tear on TV answering questions from the journalists, well, time changes I am sure. And politcian still a politician.
Tomorrow will be the climax for this edition of the drama. Waiting patiently.....

Ever Thine, Ever Mine, Ever Ours

Today is 6/21 and this is the 621th post of this blog.
Yeah, it's special and I present you with this...
Beethoven - Love Letters of Great Men
Good morning, on July 7
Though still in bed, my thoughts go out to you, my Immortal Beloved, now and then joyfully, then sadly, waiting to learn whether or not fate will hear us - I can live only wholly with you or not at all - Yes, I am resolved to wander so long away from you until I can fly to your arms and say that I am really at home with you, and can send my soul enwrapped in you into the land of spirits - Yes, unhappily it must be so - You will be the more contained since you know my fidelity to you. No one else can ever possess my heart - never - never - Oh God, why must one be parted from one whom one so loves. And yet my life in V is now a wretched life - Your love makes me at once the happiest and the unhappiest of men - At my age I need a steady, quiet life - can that be so in our connection? My angel, I have just been told that the mailcoach goes every day - therefore I must close at once so that you may receive the letter at once - Be calm, only by a calm consideration of our existence can we achieve our purpose to live together - Be calm - love me - today - yesterday - what tearful longings for you - you - you - my life - my all - farewell. Oh continue to love me - never misjudge the most faithful heart of your beloved.
ever thine
ever mine
ever ours
P/S : The above was quoted in Sex & The City. Who knows Beethoven can be that devastatingly romantic? Yes, it's not shown in Malaysia which I think it won't ever be. Not that it's a must-watch but women in 40's as real starring of a movie is a rare occurrence.

Bandung - Papandayan Teaser

More to come on the adventure in the craters of Papandayan...

Indonesia - Jakarta (Hotel Harris)

The hotel has a very interesting concept. Everything is green & orange. As "clash" as you can imagine, it's actually not tat bad.
This welcome you when you get out of the lift.

The cafe/restaurant area is next to the pool.

Hotel view (back) from the swimming pool area.

The juice bar. Yeah... a bar that serves juice.

The lobby area, cosy enough but question wordings of HARRIS hanging from top. Hm.... a bit errr.... Notice all the staff is wearing orange T-shirt.

The bar (real one, not serving fruit juice)

Like the color scheme.

The room complete with aromatherapy set.

Another shot of the lobby area.

The hotel front view.

They are REALLY serious about the color concept. Orange daisy.

Another orangy set-up.

Breakfast area.

The minimalist-style room with a sofa-bed. TV is great, with 10+ channels. The advertisements are funny, tat's another post.

It's orange EVERYWHERE!!!

The orange carrrier?

Indonesia - Yogyakarta (Ministry of Coffee Pt 3 - the Breakfast & Beverage)

Irish Coffee to quench my thirst when I arrived at the hotel around 2pm. Had a surf at the company PCs and surprisingly the charge rate is cheap! It's only Rp3000/hr, which is way much cheaper than the rate at the backpackers area in Jln. Malioboro, abt Rp6000.

Breakfast time next morning. Comes with fruits as well. Free flow of juice. The famous banana pancake.

How can you miss the coffee in the Ministry of Coffee????? Notice MoC???

And again, the room with breakfast only cost RM105.00!!! Google it when you visit Yogyakarta! Please note that it's located at Jln Prawirotaman, which is about 5-10mins from Jln. Malioboro.

Indonesia - Yogyakarta (Ministry of Coffee Part 2)

The 1st floor, where the library and PCs for internet are.

The staircase to the balcony cafe.

The cafe area at theground floor. The right side is the kitchen area, totally transparent and clean.

Internet anyone???

Library with lots of books.

Taken from the stairs to the balcony cafe.

Dining area at the cafe area.

Cafe area to the staircase. Outside garden on the left.

Night view...pardon my shaking hands...

Lounging sofa watching the world pass by outside....
