The man is one year short of 30 years old, the supposingly the start of the golden age of a man. Oh no..... I'm not talking about myself but it's the protagonist, Harry in Tony Parson's book best seller, Man and Boy. 
But of course, I'm that age too though I'm doubtful how "golden" will the age be in the future hahahaha...... Reading it now and it's quite true to some comments such as...

try tat though the ending is kind of predictable
read this before, and "man and wife". neither left any deep impression to me.
