Japan 30 People 31 Feet Primary School Championship (Shōgakusei Taikō) (小學生30人31腳全國大賽)

Many of us played this game before. Two of us standing next to each other and have our adjacent foot tied together and try to race for a certain distance. The catch is that everybody will laugh when u didn't manage to coordinate your steps accurately and ended up tripped and landed with your face on the ground!
Phoenix TV (Astro Channel 32) will show this particular show never fail every year and be it coincident or not, I will be able to watch it every year. The whole championship is based on the principle of the 2 person with 3 feet as depicted by the pics above and the rule is to have at least 30 student of the final year primary school (max age) in the same class participate in this competition. It was quite a buzz in Japan and each school take it very seriously. Not only students were involved with the coach who trained for years but the parents and school even the district education department seems to take this as extremely important event.
The determination of the students to win the championship was really touching especially when the team/school failed to get through the knock-off during the last 8. Every year they will invite a foreign team to compete with them and I had watched a few countries such as Namibia, Kenya and Vanuatu. Among all the invited teams, China Shaolin team won once and I wonder is it because of their kungfu skills.
I couldn't find any related photos and would appreciate if you happen to know where to get them. There's an entry in Wiki though it's actually a Chinese language (Japanese also available).

Coincidentally, i watched it every year also!! I'm touched by their spirit in the game, it is hardly seen in our young generation nowadays, i think Japanese cultivates it well. I almost cried with them when they lost, especially when the boy (with hearing distortion) lost in the race, and the co-captain that thrived his very hard to be the captain and the soul of the team. Admire their courage, spirits and enthusiasm.
